While this may be saddening for the person who wants to listen to music, it doesn’t mean that you cannot fix your JBL Flip 4 speaker yourself at home.

1. Proper Bluetooth Pairing (Reset)

To ensure that the Bluetooth on both the devices is switched on and connected together to be able to hear sounds.

If you’ve used your JBL Flip 4 speaker at a pool party before and have submerged it in the water, this could also be a reason.

Simply, press and hold the “Volume up” and “Play” buttons simultaneously until the device turns off itself. It may take a few seconds for the device to turn off.

Then press the power button once to turn on the device. This should work, but if it doesn’t then proceed with the next cause and fix it.

3. Low Battery

You might forget to charge your speaker properly. This happens quite frequently where sometimes you forget to check whether the cable is connected properly to the JBL Flip 4 speaker.

JBL Flip 4 speaker requires a minimum of 3 hours to 3.5 of continuous charging to be able to play your favorite tunes for up to 12 hours.

  • Locate the charging port which should be behind the speaker and on the right side of the power button. The charging point is safely hidden behind a covered port.
  • Connect the micro USB cable that is provided to you with the speaker inside the port and insert the larger side of the cable to your laptop or a device.
  • Once properly connected the three dots indication on the speaker will light up. If your device is low on battery, two dots will light up with the second one blinking. Finally, when it’s charged, none of the dots will blink and your issue should be fixed.

4. Internal Battery Failure

Even after you’ve connected the cable charging wire to your JBL Flip 4 speaker, and none of the three dots are lighting up, it means there could be an issue with the internal battery which might not allow your JBL Flip 4 speaker to turn on.

In a case like that, it is best to replace the battery with a new one and to make sure that you don’t overcharge your speaker or place it in a heated environment which could damage the battery once again.

5. Cable Is Broken

Another cause could be that your cable wire that charges the speaker is broken or damaged. Many times we accidentally damage the wire by pulling it hard.

Check the wire for any damages then decide whether the cable wire or battery needs to be replaced.

6. Motherboard Failure.

Lastly, chances are you’ve dropped your JBL Flip 4 speaker too hard on the ground causing the internal board or internal elements to be dislocated.

If none of the above trials work, as silly as it sounds, try shaking and dropping your speaker on a carpet once. Most of the time it works but if it doesn’t, that means the issue is definitely big.
